The Indonesian Soccer Association (PSSI) said that it would talk to goalkeeper Ferry Rotinsulu following his refusal to play for the national team under current coach Wim Rijsbergen.

“We want to talk about the problem. If he refuses, it will have a bad impact on him. That will concern the discipline committee,” PSSI executive committee member Bernhard Limbong said Monday, as quoted by kompas.com.
Limbong said that every citizen has a duty to fight for their country, especially soccer players.
He added, however, that the PSSI was not looking to sanction Rotinsulu.
“It’s just a matter of emotion. He just needs the personal emotional touch. There are no thoughts on sanctions yet. The matter is not even clear. I will talk to him,” he said.
Ferry Rotinsulu of Palembang soccer club Sriwijaya FC is one of seven national team players who went on strike following derogatory statements reportedly made by coach Rijsbergen about his players after they were defeated by Bahrain.
